Acupuncture for Sleep Disorders

Insomnia can greatly impact your life.  Living with poor to little sleep can lead to a number of physical and emotional conditions, such as fatigue, weight gain, heart ailments and depression.

Acupuncture is proven to be effective in treating insomnia by addressing some of the condition’s underlying causes.  Clinical studies have found that acupuncture can reduce anxiety and pain and increase melatonin production, leading to longer and better sleep. Acupuncture also soothes the body’s nervous system into a ‘rest and digest’ mode, necessary for any good night’s sleep.

Before considering options such as sleep aids or EEG neurofeedback to help remedy your sleep disorder, I recommend scheduling a few acupuncture sessions.  A blend of herbal supplements can be used in conjunction with acupuncture to effectively ease one’s mind and body back into a normal sleep schedule.
