Flu season is fast approaching. I encourage my patients to take a proactive approach, and offer a 3 session treatment protocol that bolsters immunity before the cold and flu season hits. I’ve had great feedback in the past from patients who normally would become ill with little provocation. I also instruct patients in the use of specific herbs and homeopathic medications that are effective alternatives to the flu shot ( with only good side effects!). Please call for more information and to schedule your appointments soon!
Acupuncture can be used to boost your immune system. From a TCM standpoint, acupuncture works to increase the flow of energy in weakened areas that are most susceptible. Acupuncture also prevents foreign bodies from entering our body by affecting our skin and lung functions. Clinically, studies have shown that acupuncture facilitates the production of bacteria and virus fighting cells. As discussed in last week’s blog post, acupuncture also helps to reduce stress which can wreak havoc on your immune system.
A healthy body and lifestyle are also important for maintaining a strong immune system. However, if you find yourself struggling with seasonal illness and looking for an alternative to medication, consider acupuncture.
